Pregnant Rhino Saar

Rhinos are an endangered species in the wild, leading to efforts to breed them in captivity. Saar’s mate Zimon came to the zoo in 2001, while Saar arrived in 2004. It hasn’t been an easy task to get Saar pregnant, as both Saar and Zimon were initially getting along that great. Their keepers were persistent and hopefully we will see Saar giving birth to her first healthy calf soon. She is expected to give birth in mid-November.
